Social Law Library
John Adams Courthouse
One Pemberton Square, Suite 4100
Boston, MA 02108-1792
The Social Law Library is located in the John Adams Courthouse in the Government Center section of Boston. Although one historian described it as Boston’s “most thoroughly concealed” public building, the John Adams Courthouse is not all that hard to find. Just go to Government Center and find Boston City Hall. Immediately across the street from the front of City Hall is a block-long, semi-circular office building called “Center Plaza.” The John Adams Courthouse is behind the Center Plaza. Just go through the archways at Center Plaza and the John Adams Courthouse is the majestic, granite courthouse on the left. The Social Law Library is on the 4th floor.
PARKING: For those driving, the Center Plaza complex has a parking garage. The entrance is on Somerset Street. There’s also the Boston Common Garage just a bit further away.
If you are planning on parking, we recommend downloading and using the SpotHero App in order to get the best daily rates.
DRIVING: We recommend using the maps app of your choice. If you are planning on parking in a garage, it would be best to put that address into your GPS.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:The Government Center T Stop is the closest to the Library. Please visit the MBTA website to determine your best public transportation route to the Library.
